HOW TO GET THERE


 
By Land

Desaru Beach is easily accessible thanks to Senai- Desaru Expressway, including landamark cable- span bridge across Sungai Johor.

Approximate distance and traveling time when driving to Desaru:

  • from Johor Bahru: 100 km,  1h 30min
  • from Kuala Lumpur: 436 km, 4hrs 15min
  • from Singapore: 125 km, 2hrs 15min

Public transport is available from Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi and Tanjung Belungkor to Desaru, but do check schedules as buses tend to be few and far between.

By Sea

One can travel by the Bahtera Express Ferry (Limbongan Maju Sdn. Bhd.) from Changi Point, Singapore to Tanjong Belungkor, Malaysia. The ferry operates four times a day:

  • from Changi 08.30- 19.00 (20.00 on Sundays)
  • from Belungkor 07.00-17.30 (18.30 on Sundays)

A cabin baggage above 5kg is extra paid. As the availability of the transport is a subject to change, tourists should confirm it well in ahead:

Alternatively one might opt to sail up 6km of mangrove-lined river and dock at Sebana Cove Marina Resort. The entrance to the Santi River is off the Singapore Straits, east of Singapore.

 
 

Note : The Monsoon Season starts in November and ends in March. During this period the sea becomes rough and heavy rain falls are stated. For safety reasons, the hotels may not organize marine activities such as Parasailing, Banana boat ride, etc. However, you could still enjoy sunbathing or swimming in the swimming pool or join the optional tours such as Firefly Tour, River Cruise Tour etc.
