SUNGAI RENGIT

If you are looking for some malay traditional dishes, the best Asam Pedas in town is to be found just opposite Maybank branch and Hiap Hwa Hotel on Jalan Pasar. Also worth checking is a little neighbouring food court, serving different types of Mee and Nasi. Short walking distance away, on the other side of the bridge, you can treat yourself with Ikan Bakar. Medan is open in the night time. (N 01’ 213 E 104’ 131).


Eager for having some exquisite seafood, you should log into the famous Jade Garden Seafood Corner (no.54, Jalan Kerisi/ N 01’ 213 E 104’ 132). Well known for its lobster (around 15RM/100gram), the place also got in Menu dishes like Shark’s Fin Soup, Ostrich Tendon, Soft Shell Crab or Bamboo Clam. Open 11am- 10.30pm.

Note : The Monsoon Season starts in November and ends in March. During this period the sea becomes rough and heavy rain falls are stated. For safety reasons, the hotels may not organize marine activities such as Parasailing, Banana boat ride, etc. However, you could still enjoy sunbathing or swimming in the swimming pool or join the optional tours such as Firefly Tour, River Cruise Tour etc.
